How our blended learning model works
The structure of our training is a blended learning model where you work with a Master Black Belt coach as you go. There is an online learning component that you’ll work through on a predetermined schedule that you’ll establish with your coach, and then you complete the work as it fits on your calendar within the timeline. Your coach monitors your progress, can see your quiz results, and when you meet – they will help you on the specific topics you are having trouble with during your 1 to 1 coaching sessions.
If you have a project that you are wanting to work through while you do the training (not required for Yellow Belt certification, but HIGHLY recommended) – your coach will talk through how to apply your learning to your project as you go. If you are not sure what type of project to select - don't worry - your coach will help you with that!
When you get done, you’ll be ready for your certification exam, have a completed project that you can add to your personal portfolio and have made an impact for your organization. Students who work through our blended learning model have completed projects that save their organization in the range of $20,000 to $140,000.
Above and beyond the actual training, people we work with really like the flexibility this option offers and the fact that there are no additional costs or life disruptions related to travel and being away from work for many days to attend training.
Who is it for?
Professionals who are currently or will be asked to facilitate organizational improvement projects; managers, directors, supervisors, technicians, engineers, etc.
Course Materials
Each student will be provided with a book that parallels the American Society for Quality Six Sigma Yellow Belt Body of knowledge and contains all of the topics discussed in training. Electronic downloadable templates used or referenced during the training are included. Students will need a laptop computer or other mobile device with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Deliverables
·Students will have the opportunity to learn and apply the Lean Six Sigma concepts to complete an actual improvement project
·Students will gain a knowledge of lean and six sigma theory and tools they can apply to their daily work
·Students will be prepared to facilitate future improvement projects following the DMAIC project framework
-Students will be ready to take the ASQ Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt Exam
Getting Started
Once you enroll, you’ll get 365 days to access the online course materials (approximately 82 hours of training materials), we’ll send you a copy of the course handbook, and assign you a Master Black Belt coach that will help you set up a plan to work through the material at a pace that fits your schedule. While there is a full year to access the materials – it usually takes 4 to 6 months to work through, depending on your pace, availability, etc.
Options
The course is set up on two paths, manufacturing or transactional to give students learning that is tailored to their type of work and a couple of different options for the coaching sessions, which are done via video conferencing:
· Everything described above with 7 coaching calls is priced at $2,650.
· Everything described above with unlimited access to coaching (sessions must be scheduled in advance) for 365 days for an additional $950.
